Westminster is seeking a new Director of Music to lead our strong and diverse music ministry. In this full-time position, the Director will be responsible for all music at Westminster, including all worship services. Working collaboratively with our pastors, the Director will ensure that music is an integral part of the worship experience, reinforcing the messages and themes of the spoken word and reaching the hearts and minds of worshipers. The Director will understand and share Westminster’s commitment to sharing the love of Christ with all, and will work to communicate that vision through music. The Director will also be responsible for oversight of all day-to-day aspects of our music program. The Director will ensure the consistent excellence of all musical offerings. A more detailed description of qualifications and duties can be found here.
Westminster is blessed with a vibrant and committed congregation, and a strong tradition of excellence in music. We are a growing community of 1,900+ active members (as well as 600+ children ages birth-8th grade). During most of the year, we offer two traditional Sunday worship services, served by two different adult choirs; many of our choir members are trained vocalists. We also have three youth and children’s choirs, graded by age, which enjoy substantial participation. In addition to piano and organ, our worship frequently features small instrumental ensembles.
Members of Westminster have come to expect high-quality musical offerings, and are very appreciative of our music ministry. We believe the right person for this job will continue and build on this ministry in a way that will serve God and this church, and that the new Director will find personally rewarding.
